| I’ve been working with Kirby for about eight months now. We’re building a full-service veterinary hospital into an old laundromat. This is a wall to wall, floor to ceiling remodel and every square inch counts. I took my carefully-considered floor plan to Kirby and have reviewed literally every detail with him as he developed the construction drawings and shepherded my project through the building permit process. As I write we’re doing the final detail work before closing up the walls - a particularly critical phase because once the sheet rock it up, no further modifications or additions can be allowed.
Watching Kirby work has been a lesson in competence. The guy is on the job nearly every day, coordinating his subcontractors and taking care of unexpected details himself. Kirby’s subs are skilled and personable tradesmen who are pleasant to work with and extremely willing to discuss potential improvements and help control costs with their suggestions. Kirby brings me in for subcontractor meetings at the job site, going over critical details on a wall by wall basis to anticipate conflicts and avoid costly re-do work. When change orders are necessary, Kirby works them into the job smoothly and at least cost. He is readily available by phone (no disappearing contractor problems here!) and returns email messages promptly. Kirby is easy going and upbeat, and is genuinely dedicated to building me the finest facility possible. I could not be more pleased with Kirby Wilkerson. This is the fourth veterinary hospital I have built and Kirby is by far the best contractor I’ve ever worked with. When it's time to remodel my house, this is the guy I’m going to call.
